Some years ago, when I was put in charge of the tedious training at some tedious financial services institution where I was doing an awful lot of other tedious things, I got it into my head that I would be damned if I was gonna kill my colleagues with boredom. I knew straight off the bat, but for no logical reason, that I was going to create animated videos. Except for a minor snag: I had never used animating software before. I had no clue. I knew no software.

Fast-forward to the middle of 2023, six months or so after I notched up yet another redundancy, lingering on the corporate shitheap as only a middle-aged woman can. I found myself surveying my bank account asking myself NOW-BLOODY-WHAT. A couple of mentors were spurring me on to think laterally; one was forcefully adamant that I should start making those fantastic videos for myself, not some random company. I contacted a few people. I ran a webinar. Someone who knew me from the aforementioned tedious place got in touch asking me whether I was still making those nice animations. Someone else asked whether I would spin a short intro video. Hang on, maybe I can do this all the time?
